Nevawood C.O.P.S. Shop LID Parking Lot
Spokane, WA
AHBL was contracted to prepare survey, engineering, and landscape plans for the expansion of the Nevawood C.O.P.S. shop parking lot. The plans called for the provision of 14 new conventional stalls, as well as provisions for additional accessible parking. The project included close coordination with the Neighborhood Council and adjacent property owners. Although a small project, the design incorporates the principles of sustainable, low impact (LID) site deign. The storm drainage plan includes generous amended soil depths, coupled with shrub and ground cover plantings to facilitate stormwater treatment. Permeable pavers are used adjacent to the parking areas as a walking surface and as an LID feature. AHBL also designed interpretive signage to highlight the sustainable features of the design plan.
